South West

Did you know the Southwest Regional is composed of teachers in the following districts: Lethbridge Public, Holy Spirit, Horizon, Westwind, Palliser and Livingstone Range? Our mandate is to provide support to teachers in these districts in regards to inclusive education. 

At one time the Southwest Regional was very active, however, over the past year, membership and professional development activities have been on the decline. We would really like to resurrect this Regional but we need your help:

a) What professional development topics you are interested in? When/how you would prefer to receive the learning?

b) We need help with our Executive Meetings! Click here for more information.

c) Are you interested in joining a book study? Come join the Southwest Regional Special Education Council Book Study!
Are you interested in participating in a book study on one of the following books: Mindset by Carol Dweck, or Differentiated Instruction Different Strategies for Different Learners by Betty Hollas, Char Forsten and Jim Grant. Those interested in pursuing the book study will receive a free copy of the book.


A big thank you to the following individuals:  Kerry Taylor (Westwind School Division), Teresa Eveleigh (Holy Spirit Division), Linda Virostek (Horizon Division) and Margaret Powell ( Lethbridge 51 Division). These individuals have been a valuable addition to the Southwest Regional over the past few years.
